CLEAN WATER IS A VALUABLE COMMODITY
Fortunately, Duxbury has clean tap water!
And now you have your own water bottle!
On a daily basis, DBMS instructors have found that they throw away hundreds of Poland Spring water bottles. At the end of the day, the bottles overfill our trashcans, spilling over and falling into the bay. Kids leave them on the dock where a prevailing wind blows them onto Duxbury Beach. Many remain full of water, with students only bothering to take a few sips of water.
To alleviate the consumption of petroleum based products, a generous donation has been made by the Charles Schwab Corporation, supplying every DBMS sailing and rowing student with a reusable water bottle. Our hope is to reduce the amount of Poland Spring water bottles that cycle their way through our campus and into the dumpster.
Hydration remains a critical part of sailing and rowing. Please make an effort to bring your water bottle to class everyday!
